Candle-Making for Hospital Patients
February 19, 2022
Vedic Samaj Youth created 100 homemade scented candles for hospital patients at St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. These candles were made with over 300 crayons, paraffin wax, and various scents.
Vedic Samaj Youth Easter Bunny Bash
April 2, 2022
Vedic Samaj Youth hosted a Bunny Bash with egg games, crafts, an egg hunt, and easter egg olympics for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life initiative. The Easter Bunny bash had many booths for painting eggs, creating crafts, playing games, finding eggs, winning candy, and even taking a picture at our photo booth with the easter bunny! VSY Firefighter Appreciation
April 29, 2022
Vedic Samaj Youth went to the Warren Firehouse and met around 15 firefighters! The group was surprised to learn that most of them began their work there when they were just teenagers, and the the firefighter system is completely volunteer-based. VSY served bagels and cream cheese/butter, donuts, cinammon rolls, fruit, yogurt, orange juice, and coffee to the firefighters. In turn, the firefighters showed VSY around the firehouse, allowed VSY members to sit inside a firetruck, and helped VSY members learn about various firefighter equipment.
VSY x C2 Mock Testing Event
May 13 & 20, 2023
Vedic Samaj Youth held a fundraising event in conjunction with C2 SAT/ACT prep. Students were invited to take a mock SAT and ACT test for a discounted rate of $20, all of which were donated to Vedic Samaj Youth to help us fundraise for our cause.
Relay for Life International Booth
June 6, 2023
Vedic Samaj Youth held an international booth during the Relay for Life Bridgewater event. We held various activities to educate the community on the countries in which cancer is most prevalent, what they can do to stop it, etc. We had multiple various activities, games, and prizes for people to earn while they Relay!
Vedic Samaj Youth STEM Camp
October-November 2023
Vedic Samaj Youth held a STEM camp for elementary students. Our STEM proctors invited adults to teach students physics and biomedical engineering. Students were able to create aluminum foil boats, prosthetic arms, and different types of bridges.
