What goes into planning a fundraising event?

Brainstorm ideas for the event

Plan each aspect of the event in great detail

Budgeting and buying materials
-
Create a flyer and google form to advertise the event
-
Marketing fundraising events on social media platforms, hanging up flyers and spreading the word with family/friends
Eligibility:
-
Any middle schooler or high schooler
-
Available Sundays over zoom for weekly meetings
-
Be able to commute to Basking Ridge, NJ for events
NOTE: Executive Positions will be opening soon!
Qualifications:
-
Must be in grades 9-12
-
Must have been a VSY member for at least 2 months with nearly perfect attendance (some excusable exceptions)
-
Must be local to Somerset County, NJ
How do Volunteer Hours work?
Vedic Samaj Youth is a Ridge High School approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
You can get hours through the following work:

Attending weekly meetings and actively participate
-
Attendance in fundraising/volunteering events
-
Amount of time spent outside of meetings to work on VSY (Ex. creating flyers, google forms, organization, marketing)
Benefits from joining VSY:

Networking and developing leadership skills

Completing necessary volunteer hours

Hearing from talented guest speakers
-
Opportunities to go visit new places for volunteering

Can be given recommendation letters upon request

Developing a passion to give back to the community
